Turn Off System Sounds
(Free Up More System Resources)

If you don’t use speakers or just don’t ever have the volume turned up then you could make this last tweak and save even more of your systems resources, allowing it to run even more efficiently.

By Default Windows operating systems have sounds turned on. If you disable these sounds you can be sure that NO PC performance is lost due to this optional feature.

NOTE:
Turning OFF System Sounds will only affect your windows operating sounds scheme, NOT other sounds you DO want to hear, like music, mp3′s, online videos or movies for example. These sounds will still work when you want them to.

How To Turn Your System Sounds Off:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on Control Panel and/or Settings
  3. Click on Hardware and Sound or Sounds and audio devices
  4. Listed under Sound, Click on Change system sounds
  5. Under the Sound Scheme: select No Sounds from the drop-down menu (click the down-arrow)
  6. I also recommend Un-checking Play Windows Startup sound (it’s not needed either, and it helps)
  7. Important: Be sure to click the Apply button to confirm, then click OK. Close the open window.
